Originally, the northern section of the Agora was for political activities while the southern part was for commercial ones. When Paestum became a Latin colony in 273 BC, this became a forum. The forum was half the size of the Agora with a colonnade around and tabernae outside. The Romans also moved the political buildings (curia and commitium) to the southern side, where they build the Temple of Peace. It had three compartments for Jupiter, Juno, and Minerva.
