In this museum, we discussed design, and the characteristics of architecture according to Vitruvius, two of which are: symmetry: and diathesis (or arrangement). These two, in addition to repetition, create order. Look at the pictures of my notes for more explanation.
We also learned about navigation in the ancient Mediterranean here. There were several notable people (Pytheas, Hipparchus, Eudoxus, and Ptolemy) who were involved with the ancient merchant ships, war ships, and tools and strategies for staying on track (including a complicated technique that involved similar triangles for determining distance that could have many other applications besides for navigation).
