The temple of Hephaestus overlooks the agora, thus, protecting it. It was built in 460 BC when the Greeks were on an up rise. It houses the gods Athena and Hephaestus (because this area was dedicated to the arts). This was the first temple we saw and was distyle in antis. It is also the best-retained temple in Greece because it was not turned into a church, so it wasn’t looted or destroyed.
